A look at the mail from RBI :)

Hi All,

Today we are going to check some more details about the server IP address and how its going to work.

I have visited the website of research.haifa.ac.il . It was in hebrew . And thus it confirmed my views that the server belongs to israel. The mail server is using Extended SMTP(ESMTP) .

And more information about the mail server is as follows

The senders name is reginak@research.haifa.ac.il. So the mail server domain name is research.haifa.ac.il . 

Now what we need to find is whethere there is a mail server with that domain??

And yes there is :

The mail server research.haifa.ac.il appears to be valid.

with the following information available about it .

MX Records              Exchange                                          IP Address
1                                mr4.haifa.ac.il                                   132.74.1.220
2                                mr6.haifa.ac.il                                    132.74.1.41

In the above list my guess is that  mr might represent mirror. So it does mean that there are two mirrors for the above mail server.

What we need to find is that I believe university wont be allowing such type of activities. But it might be happening without their knowledge . We need to find out how and who is sending these mails .
